Free Sketch-up – Gentleman’s Valet Box

This is the free blueprint for my Gentleman’s Valet Box — a detailed woodworking project built around sharp proportions, exotic materials, and uncompromising details.

The box was made using wenge, bubinga, and walnut, combining some of the most striking and demanding woods in the shop. The design includes a clean outer form, a fitted interior layout, a bubinga grid system, watch storage, valet compartments, and carefully considered hardware details.

This project is not about making a simple box as quickly as possible. It is about control. Control over difficult wood, control over precision, and control over the small decisions that separate a good project from one that feels intentional.

Wenge and bubinga are not forgiving materials. They chip, splinter, burn, crack, and punish mistakes. That is exactly why this build matters. The blueprint gives you the structure and proportions behind the finished piece, while the video shows the real struggle, problem-solving, and techniques that made it possible.

This file is meant as a starting point for your own version. You can follow the proportions closely, change the dimensions, use different woods, or adapt the interior layout depending on what you want to store — watches, rings, cufflinks, keys, wallets, or other daily carry items.
